The Art of Winemaking
Every bottle of Viña Edén is the result of a process that combines millenary tradition, innovation and a deep respect for nature
Vines from France
The vines were carefully selected with the help of Uruguay's leading wine and agriculture specialists, together with the prestigious Mercier studio from France. Each variety — Pinot Noir, Tannat, Merlot, Marselan, Cabernet Franc and Chardonnay — was chosen to express the best of our unique terroir.
Over four years of cultivation and organic fertilization prepare each plant before its first harvest. Manual pruning guides growth, while constant monitoring of climate and soil ensures ideal conditions for the highest quality grapes.

Three Water Reservoirs
Viña Edén has three water reservoirs that feed a precision drip irrigation system, ensuring the right water supply at every stage of growth and production. Created in 2009, they were integrated into the natural landscape and are fed exclusively by rainwater collection.
The French Inert Press
Viña Edén features a state-of-the-art French press that uses nitrogen to create an inert environment during pressing. This process prevents juice contact with air, avoiding oxidation before fermentation and preserving all the freshness and aromatic purity of the grapes.

Controlled Processes, Minimal Intervention
Fermentation at Viña Edén is carried out with selected yeasts, carefully hydrated and adapted to the medium before inoculation, ensuring controlled processes with minimal intervention. All tanks — both stainless steel and concrete imported from Italy — feature temperature control. The concrete tanks also provide subtle micro-oxygenation that enriches the wine's structure.

Oak Barrels
After a minimum of six months of post-fermentation storage, a rigorous selection process determines each wine's destiny. Reserve and Gran Reserve wines age in American and French oak barrels. Our cellar, nestled in the hillside rock, provides perfect natural temperature and humidity conditions.
The winemaking team analyzes and programs the specific process for each red wine — Pinot Noir, Tannat, Merlot and Marselan — adjusting aging times according to each vintage's unique characteristics.

Technology at Nature's Service
When grapes ripen, they inevitably attract local birds. White nets protect each row while allowing light through, but the true innovation is our drone that flies over the vineyard emitting raptor bird sounds, deterring birds without causing any harm. Technology and ingenuity at the service of respectful viticulture.
